Los Angeles is a great city to work in because it’s diversity allows for endless potential for discovery. I am curious about all creative processes in particular those that are a direct contribution and nurture the diversity that is so vital to our dynamic ethnosphere.
“Never underestimate the potential of loitering”
- Stephen Prina, 1989
Multicultural exchange has been the stimulus for most of my endeavors as I have documented traditional art forms, archived anthropological materials, and co-founded an international film festival and institute. In my studio, I adapt representations of people places and things from disparate parts of the world I am connected to. In my current paintings I am exploring bodies on coastlines which emerged from my personal history with Papua New Guinea.
